OUR MISSION
Positive Ageing in London was founded in 2011 as the London regional forum on ageing, bringing together older people’s organisations, charities, service providers and statutory bodies.
We have already organised a series of successful events with great expert speakers and facilitated focus groups which have produced some excellent recommendations on the key issues which concern us as older Londoners.
From our events we provide policy calls for inclusion in the Mayor’s strategies for London.

Dec 01 20210PAiL has been mounting a campaign this autumn to ensure that High Streets in London are age-friendly. As London’s recovery looks at regeneration it’s key that thinking about High Street renewal doesn’t forget older Londoners. Its report titled ‘Unleashing the grey pound – older consumers’ contribution to High Street revival’. https://pailondon.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/High-Street-briefingFINAL23Sept.pdf makes the case that the contribution of older people needs more attention particularly as consumers. The report went to all London boroughs, GLA Assembly members, and

Sep 10 20210The social care bill needs to be financed through a wealth tax and or income tax on those with higher incomes. It is not fair that younger people on low income subsidise older wealthier pensioners so they can keep their wealth https://inews.co.uk/news/six-million-over-60s-plan-to-rely-on-state-pension-to-pay-for-care-1176173?ito=email_share_article-top

Jun 01 20210Building back better is the watchword for recovery in London. London Boroughs’ performance during the pandemic was on the whole exemplary – providing much needed support for older people, working in partnership with the community and innovating in real time. But now we are beyond the worst, are London Boroughs taking older people’s needs into account as they produce plans for recovery? PAiL asked all London Boroughs for information earlier this year about how they
