PAiL has been mounting a campaign this autumn to ensure that High Streets in London are age-friendly. As London’s recovery looks at regeneration it’s key that thinking about High Street renewal doesn’t forget older Londoners.
Its report titled ‘Unleashing the grey pound – older consumers’ contribution to High Street revival’. https://pailondon.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/High-Street-briefingFINAL23Sept.pdf makes the case that the contribution of older people needs more attention particularly as consumers. The report went to all London boroughs, GLA Assembly members, and the London Recovery Board. It’s prompted various GLA Assembly members to ask questions of the Mayor and we’ll be reporting on responses later this month.
