The Green Party Supports PAiL’s Age-Friendly Manifesto

The Green Party have expressed their support for our Age-Friendly manifesto, with the email below:

Dear Sam, Chris and team,

Thank you so much for getting in touch. Sian Berry and the Green candidates in this election are happy to support your campaign pledges and we hope you will find that our manifesto also sets out a range of practical policies to achieve them.

I also wanted to highlight that a key part of our values as Greens is to make sure that decisions are made by and for the people they most affect, and to listen to and include the voices of those who are often ignored in the processes and decisions made in City Hall.

These principles are behind our announcement to appoint an Elders Champion in City Hall which you can read about here:

As Assembly Members, Sian Berry and Caroline Russell have made this a key part of their ethos and have listened to the concerns of older Londoners in putting together proposals such as the budget amendment in 2020 that found funding for 32 new toilet blocks in Transport for London stations, and the work Caroline has done looking in detail at the safer streets programme, making recommendations for how to make these schemes work better for people less able to get around.

You can read more about this work here:

And the full manifesto is available online here, with key policies also available in a range of languages and in BSL and audio described.

Please keep in touch so that we can continue to support these pledges after the election, and very best wishes,
