Sustain and the GLA are organising an online and interactive ‘Older Londoners Food Summit’ from 10am-12pm on Thursday 1stOctober (the International Day of Older Persons).
The event will explore the role of good food in the lives of older Londoners, including ways to ensure older people can access good food.
Sustain and the GLA will present two new complementary pieces of research looking into older people’s experiences of food before and during the COVID-19 lockdown. Attendees will then have the opportunity to take part in one of two workshop sessions to reflect on how the research insights can be put into practice and the role community groups have played in sustaining food services for older Londoners throughout lockdown.
This event is aimed at anyone working in local authorities, campaigns and advocacy, policy-making, community food projects, those running meals on wheels services or lunch clubs, or indeed anyone interested in this area, including older people who want to contribute to and shape this work.
If you are able to attend, please register using the Eventbrite link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/older-londoners-food-summit-tickets-118494457111 and make sure to indicate which workshop session you would like to attend when registering.
We hope to see you there and please get in touch with any queries beforehand.
