The Age of No Retirement?

By | July 25, 2014

Britain’s first ever national debate & exhibition to discover the value in society in which people are living and working longer. Trading Times is hosting a series of events at The OXO Tower between 1-2 October 2014 and tell us more about it all here.

Thanks to our 5 sponsors – Aviva, Barclays, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Technology Strategy Board – we now have all we need to host the debates on 1st & 2nd October. We have amazing debaters lined up and the audience tickets go on ‘sale’ (they’re free, but limited) today via Eventbrite – link below.

Attached please find the updated schedule for ‘The Age of No Retirement?’. The document provides an overview of the structure and content of the event, as well as the participant debaters and organisations. We will be sending out more detailed debate content and format guidance nearer the time. There is no need to prepare any slides or speeches. The debates will be facilitated by designers in a dynamic, innovative and informal manner. Each debate will have 6-8 debaters, a facilitator and ~20 audience participators.

Two important asks:

  • Let me know if you’d like to debate! Which one? Also, forward to others in your stakeholder network whose voice you think should be heard and who would add value to the debates – they don’t necessarily need to be from the ‘ageing-positive’ or diversity & inclusion spaces, after all this affects all of us! – so can be poets, entrepreneurs, architects, writers, business leaders… anyone, as long as they have something meaningful to add, and come with their sleeves rolled up and minds engaged!

It’s getting really exciting now.
